  • Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): The study aims to determine the relationship of pedagogic competency of Social teacher and climate class with learning motivation at the students of grade VIII Junior High School 40 Samarinda. This study used quantitative research methods. The subject of this research is the students og grade VIII Junior High School 40 Samarinda with a total sample of 86 students analyzed using simple random sampling techniques. Methods of data collection techniques used is learning motivation scale,pedagogic competency of Social teacher and climate class. Data were analyzed using multiple regression test and simple regression test with the help of program Statistical Package for Special Sciences (SPSS) 21.0 for Windows. Research result showed that: (1) There is a relationship between teachers’s pedagogic competencies in social studies and climate classes with learning motivation with F count> F table (8.973> 3.10) and p value = 0.000 (p <0.05) ; (2) There is a positive and significant relationship between the social studies teacher’s pedagogic competence with learning motivation with the coefficient of beta (β) = 0.244, the value of t count> t table (2.175> 1.989) and p value = 0.033 (p <0.05); (3) There is a positive and significant correlation between classroom climate and learning motivation with the coefficient of beta (β) = 0.248, t count> t table (2.207> 1.989) and p = 0.030 (p <0.05). Contributions impact pedagogic competency of Social teacher and classroom climate with learning motivation amounted 0.178 or 17.8 percent.
